This is why I love digital art making! Layers make it possible to do a lot of experiments. It's a luxury I didn't have when I was doing traditional art. Just love it.

The final episode of "Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae" had a scene where there was a field of blue manjushage flowers -- it was surreal since manjushage don't come in that color. It had a very eerily beautiful effect and the image was stuck in my mind for days (weeks ). After I did the first version with butterflies, I colorized the whole thing in PaintShopPro to see if I'd like a blue version. It was beautiful, so I decided to go on ahead and spend some time this afternoon to make new layers (The background is 5 layers.) for the background and tweaked Ai's expression as well as her hand a little. But I kept her eye red because she wouldn't be Jigoku Shoujo without those red eyes.
