"Lady of Compassion" (Remedy) -- line art in biro on paper, colored digitally in Corel Painter on Intuos 3
The finished version of my Lady of Compassion (Remedy) for the art trade with

I had "shades of green" planned as requested, but never had the details worked out (as usual), so it took me a little longer than I thought it would take.
It was the lady's costume detail that had me testing colors for a while.
While researching white deer, I stumble upon the information on a herd of them at an army depot in Seneca, NY. They are white, but not albinos with pink eyes. Just their fur is white. Regular deer are quite beautiful, but the white ones in the photos are remarkably beautiful, also. In ancient Japan, deer were considered to be one of the many sacred animals. ^^ I think they fit well in the theme of this painting with their delicate looks and innocent-looking eyes (If you've ever been to Nara Park in Japan, you know that they're not as bashful and innocent as they appear... lol).
When I was planning the line art of the lady, the deer were not originally planned. At one point, there was only one, and in my final, most recent sketch, the mama deer and the baby "appeared". It is interesting how a seed of an idea goes through a transformation as the doodling of the sketch progresses.

How much is it? it did not say in the shop. I was thinking of getting it as a gift for someone special to me.
