"Las Calaveras" (The Skulls) -- line art in pen on paper, scanned image digitally colored free-handed in Corel Painter on Intuos 3 tablet.
It's been really long since I got to do something for myself. I've been swamped with commissions (Too many of them being series of similar things and taking so much of my time.) all summer, though I can't complain. On top of not being able to do my own things as much as I wanted to, I got sick from the West Nile virus late last month -- it was the sickest I felt in my adult life. I'm all better now, and when I was finally able to sit for any length of time at my desk, I sketched this pretty quickly. It took a while to go from the inked lines to the colored version because of the #YoungArtistsContest
-- 24 award certificates to make, 43 notes to write to winners and prize donors, and one giant results announcement, all tedious and time-consuming. It's all done for the year, and I'm very happy about that.
The "Dia de los Muertos" themed, slightly dark piece. I had fun with it. Hope you like it. ^^
