Red Poppies

Ink & watercolor on paper, 5" x 7" (approx. 12.7 cm x 17.8 cm). The third in my series featuring poppies of different colors (I have done blue and white before this.). I decided to go with the monochromatic color scheme to keep the focus on red petals and also to just generally keeping colors loose except for the facial features of the elf. I love painting flowers in general. But poppies are definitely one of my recurring themes and one of my favorite flowers to paint -- my three favorite being rose, peony, and poppy. ^_^
