One of my recurring themes is Snow Queen (I have a fascination with predatory women as someone once pointed out...). This time around, she's quite a bit darker than my previous versions. Always inspired by the story by Hans Christian Andersen. To so many of us, villains are often more interesting than protagonists in a story. My mind often wanders off to imagine the back stories of villains. This illustration was started during a Sketch Fest in July to a prompt of "Snow Queen".
This is the first time that I posted something new in a really long time here on dA. I have a lot of other images both digital and traditional that I've made since my last post. I feel a little sad that I don't get to spend as much time as I used to here anymore. I miss the daily interaction with friends old and new... Also, I'm a bit worried that people who are used to seeing my fluffy work (Those happy little babies I call Sprites, for example...) might find this one a bit disturbing. I have to balance things out mentally and artistically by going to different places - sometimes it's sunny and warm, and sometimes it's dark and chilly. They are all aspects of my own personality.

I have one of your books and love the combination of your drawing and digital work. Beautiful dark or otherwise.
