Ink & watercolor on vellum (140 lb.) 8.5" x 11". Larger piece for a change.
And a darker theme, which I love as much as the light and whimsical. This piece is for the auction event in the theme of "White Lady" coming up at one of the artist collectives that I belong to, called Femme Thou Art Collective
. It's coming up on August 19, and it is an all-original event by member artists. It's my first time participating. ^_^
Since the theme was "White Lady", I immediately thought of the ghost story involving a lady in white that seems to be found just about everywhere in the world, the Angolan White Lady butterfly, and the nickname for a certain illicit drug that I will not mention by name here. *giggles* I thought about giving her a Catrina face (Day of the Dead skull paint), but got lazy and went for a more realistic skull paint of a sort. I've always wanted to paint a gray, dead fish eyes in my illustration, and this one seemed like a good time for it.
I had lots of fun with this one after doing nothing but flower sprites ACEOs for the past week. I actually love doing darker themes, so this one got done pretty quickly. *happyhappy*
