Feature: Drawn

Welcome to the garden of drawn delights!  Here is a collection of surreal works created in humble pen and pencil.  Works in this category never cease to amaze and amuse me while I am quickly bored with fantasy photomanipulations and close-up photos of flowers, water droplets, and feathers dusted with glitter.  Many artists who produce such works are immensely popular, and many people enthusiastically collect those images.  After all, it is easy to like undeniably beautiful things.  Beautiful things are pleasant to look at.  I love them, too.  I grow bored of them because they often lack personality and originality of vision of the artists.  

So I gravitate toward the extremely personal and often illogical visions of artists who work in surrealism.  The range of individuality and creativity I find here pleases me to no end.  The freedom from the entrapment of frantically trying to achieve utter realism is a sheer joy to me.  I find the patience and drive it takes to complete pieces like these admirable, too.  I love the guts, the insanity, and the spirit of all artists who choose to work this way.
