"Opium Den Tango" -- the final version of "Ranmao and Lau". FULL VIEW PLEASE -- so you can see the details.
Once I got going with it, the silk brocade designs or Lau's arm tattoo didn't take long at all. I guess I was just tired yesterday because these elements seemed insurmountable at the time. I studied silk brocade swatches for the designs on their clothes. Ranmao's dress, of course, has the plum blossoms and Lau's tunic has the dragon and clouds designs. I wanted to do dragon and phoenix, but something was "off", so I stuck with dragons. As always, these are hand drawn on there.
I'm glad this is finished. But then again, there were so many things I wanted to experiment, like a red shoe without stockings, for one, so I might be coming up with other versions made from the same line art in the future.
