"Shades of Blue" WIPs -- a step-by-step presentation
This is my second ste-by-step showing of the WIP shots taken during the making of a digital watercolor painting. This time, I'm using my most recent painting "Shade of Blue" for the psuedo-demonstration.
I've always liked watercolor and colored pencil as my traditional media, so it's really no surprise that this is the look I gravitate toward when I do digital art.
My "technique" is a result of trial-and-error and lots of experimentation, which is a wonderful thing to be able to do in digital with absolutely no regard for cost or being "wasteful". Although I share what I do in these step-by-step presentations, I still believe that there's no better teacher than the old-fashioned trial-and-error. ^^ (I might be simply saying that just because that's how I learned everything I know...... hmmmm.)
Once again, the program used is Corel Painter. (I just love it!) I think the way I work on my paintings is possibly one of the least techy and most boring with everything hand-drawn and no cool "brushes" being used to create texture, pattern, or shapes, although I've done those things for my fan art in the past. I really like my recent paintings -- because it's very "me".
