"Totoro with Bubbles" ("Up, up, and ... away!?")

Totoro is all about friendship, fun, family, kindness, thoughfulness, tenderness, adventure, dreams, etc. -- all the good things of childhood. It makes me feel good to draw them. This picture was no exception.

The medium totoro is getting the attention of the big one. The littlest one is going, "Um... what should I do, guys?"

I was looking at the Studio Ghibli logo of totoro's profile. The whole idea quickly developed from that. Interesting what can happen just by changing the eye's focus. Originally, this was going to be a joint doodle project with my daughter, but I couldn't stop at line drawing.... I'm bad. And I did realize that I drew the blue totoro's ears wrong! Oops!
